Responsibilities

At Fast Pace Health, the Primary Care Medical Assistant provides clinical and administrative support essential for effective patient care under the direct supervision of a Primary Care Provider. They provide outstanding patient service, maintaining a compassionate and welcoming atmosphere and respond quickly and accurately to changes in condition or response to treatment. The Primary Care Medical Assistant will provide effective customer service for all internal and external customers by using excellent, in-depth knowledge as well as communicating effectively with team members.

What You Will Do:

Clinical:

  • Triage patients by checking and recording vitals, collect and record pertinent clinical history and all other information deemed necessary for proper charting in the EMS
  • Prepare exam and treatment rooms for patient intake
  • Assists primary care provider in patient assessments, examinations, and minor procedures
  • Observe patients, charting, reporting changes in patients’ conditions, such as adverse reactions to medication or treatment and taking any necessary action
  • Perform lab testing and phlebotomy. Handles and labels specimens for laboratory and pathology testing
  • Perform wound care and suture removal as needed
  • Perform federal and non-federal DOT, BAT and Drug Screen exams
  • Ensure patient comfort and confidentiality during procedures
  • The ability to maintain friendly, cordial relations with all employees, build and maintain confidence and credibility with all employees
  • Deliver clinical and administrative support for the team and adhere to all policies and procedures of the company

Administrative:

  • Verify insurance coverage, obtain authorizations, and schedule referrals.
  • Maintain and update patient records
  • Prepare and organize patient charts for upcoming appointments
  • Schedule patient appointments and manage the appointment calendar
  • May perform as a Scribe as needed
  • Assist providers with conducting proper patient follow-ups, including but not limited to, conducting follow-up calls within 1-2 days of treatment, respond to messages within the same day of receipt
  • Answer phone calls, address patient inquiries, and triage urgent messages to primary care provider
  • Manage inventory, order medical supplies and medications as needed.
  • Responsible for learning the aspects of compliance in the company by completing all mandatory compliance
  • Maintain primary care, patient-centered medical home, and value base care knowledge to promote and sell services

Non-Essential Functions:

  • Assists with urgent care activities as primary care schedule allows
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management

 

 

Experience Requirements and Preferences:

  • At least 1+ year of experience as a Medical Assistant, preferably in a primary care setting  

Education Requirements:

High School Diploma or Its Equivalent
