The Behavioral Health Clinical Specialist (LPN or RN) position involves consistent, quality customer service to both internal staff members and external patients. The clinical specialist will serve in a dual role as both assisting the Care Coordinator and the Behavioral Health Call Center. He or she will actively be involved in patient care by providing a resource for patient questions, concerns, and case management. He or she will listen to the patients’ requests and take appropriate action to respond, including communicating with providers about patient or medication concerns, communicating with the pharmacy to verify prescriptions or to call in refills, completing prior authorization forms, school medication forms, assisting with patient letters, and provide information to clinics who are referring to behavioral health services. The clinical specialist will also assist with referrals to other specialties, communicate with insurance if needed, communicate with local areas to investigate services to assist the patient needs, and assist with crisis management by communicating with the provider if hospitalization is needed. He or she will serve as a resource to ensure patients are scheduled for follow-up after hospitalization, investigates non-compliance, and assists with ways to increase compliance with visits and obtaining medication. In managing these requests, the clinical specialist will be asked to keep up with patient time spent for care coordination for billing and staffing with providers. As an additional team member of the call center, you will assist the call center specialists with scheduling of intake & follow-up appointments, assisting with online registration and check-in, assisting patients with use of technology to see providers, verifying insurance for eligibility for behavioral health services, input of patient insurance information in the system, creating chart for patient in prescription system, ensuring any intake triage orders are given to patient and scanned in the chart if applicable before the first appointment, and completing outside referrals from our behavioral health providers. The clinical specialists will consistently demonstrate proficient data entry skills, knowledge of insurance billing while maintaining confidentiality. It is essential that they demonstrate efforts to maintain and improve job-specific competencies, and perform other duties as assigned.
This is a fully remote role with flexible schedule options Monday-Friday 8am-7pm CST.
